The Partner Assault Response Program (PAR) of Family Services Durham provides psychoeducational groups and counselling services for individuals who have been charged, convicted, and/or pled guilty to a Domestic Violence Offence against a partner, as well as supportive services for their partners.
We have external contractor positions for male and female Group Facilitators to co-facilitate our men and women’s groups, as Relief Group Facilitators. The groups run weekly from Tuesday to Thursday at day and evening times.
PAR Relief Group Facilitators work on an irregular basis. Relief Group Facilitators substitute for Regular Group Facilitators when they are absent from groups due to illness or vacation.
Responsibilities:
· Co-facilitate groups for mandated individuals who have committed abuse/assault against a partner
· Complete required documentation in a timely manner
· Attend team meetings, held at evening times
Qualifications:
· MSW or BSW, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant human services field
· Demonstrated experience leading groups and with co-facilitation
· Experience working with mandated clients is an asset
· Understanding of partner abuse, power and control issues, and the impact of abuse/assault on relationships
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
· Demonstrated support for a teamwork approach and the ability to work collaboratively
· Strong understanding and ability to work cross culturally
· Strong commitment to working in a pro-feminist, anti-oppression and anti-racist environment
These contractor positions are paid at the rate of $38.00 per hour.
