Duties:
- Advise and assist with the operation & maintenance of potable water treatment systems
- Advise and assist with performing routine maintenance and inspections of water treatment plant equipment
- Follow safety protocols, regulations and guidelines while assisting in water plants
- Remotely monitor water treatment systems and report on unusual system operations
- Collaborate with team members to complete operation and maintenance activities
- Adhere to project specifications and timelines - Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Previous experience operating communal water treatment systems
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with water treatment systems ranging from conventional to nanofiltration
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
- Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management plans is beneficial
Skills:
- Proficient in the operation of water treatment systems. Minimum WT1 Ontario Certification required. WD1, WS1, WWT1 or higher are beneficial. WQA is an asset
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures for operating and maintaining water plants
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong Communication skills required. Proficient at writing reports & technical documents
This position requires a skilled self starting Water Treatment Operator who can effectively operate various water treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience operating water treatment systems ranging from conventional to membrane filtration. They should also possess mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Pentair membrane systems and Napier Reid conventional filtration systems is a plus. The Operator will be responsible for advising and assisting Operators in the operation and maintenance of their treatment systems, and collaborating with team members to ensure project completion according to specifications.
