We are currently recruiting for a retail Pharmacist to join our full-service Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy. Our Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy is located on the Main Floor in the Black Wing and offers patients, public and employees a one stop retail/pharmacy experience. Here's What You'll Get To Do:
- Provide full centered retail pharmaceutical services to patents, public and employees
- Review and provide counseling on prescription medication information with patients
- Report adverse drug reactions and complete drug use evaluations as required
- Work in partnership with multiple hospital clinics to deliver optimum care for our pediatric patients
- Oversee and comply with NAPRA standards for non sterile compounding
- Establish and maintain standards of practice, accreditation, and operations consistent with Ontario College of Pharmacists standards
- Dispense medications and resolve drug related issues as they arise
- Ensure Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants comply with all store policies and operating procedures
- Provide training and mentorship to Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants
- Review and input patients medication history in Healthwatch system
- Contact physician when prescription accuracy is questionable
- Monitor outcome of compliance to the drug therapy
- Respond to drug information requests from patients/parents and other health care providers
Here's What You'll Need:
- Registration as a Registered Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists or eligible for registration
- Familiar with the Health Watch Delta Pharmacy dispensing system an asset
- 2+ years of experience as a staff pharmacist in a hospital or retail establishment would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative teamwork
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion
Employment Type:
- Temporary Full Time- 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week).
- Open Weekdays 7:30am-7pm, Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays 11-5 (1 weekend shift/4-5 weeks)
