Dance Umbrella of Ontario (DUO) is a not-for-profit arts service provider of administrative, production, strategic capacity building, finance and bookkeeping, marketing, and communications to Ontario’s dance artists, dance companies, and organizations. DUO was founded in 1988 by the Arts Councils to support dance artists and companies with their administrative and business activities. In addition to providing tailored and flexible services, DUO strengthens the dance sector by undertaking new strategic and progressive initiatives in partnership with organizations across the arts sector.
DUO supports and builds capacity for a wide variety of dance artists and dance companies in the creation, production, and dissemination of their art using an equity and diversity lens. Clientele includes dance artists, small- and mid-scale companies, and organizations based in Ontario who work in a variety of culturally diverse dance forms. DUO supports dance artists by providing the best and most appropriate services allowing our clients to grow their capacity as they focus on their dance practice. DUO’s clients lead our work through their artistic vision.
