Senior Supply Chain Specialist
Reports to: Supply Chain and Logistics Manager
Location: Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto
Annual Salary: $65-85k depending on experience
COBS Bread is looking for a highly organized, collaborative self-starting
Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. Supporting the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager, this position supports supply chain activities for all COBS Canadian bakeries.
This role is essential in the continuous improvement of our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for the adoption of modern processes and analytics, enhancing the efficiency of our supply chain. Additionally, you'll help oversee the procurement of high-quality ingredients and equipment, ensuring everything our bakeries need is on hand to create delightful products for our customers. Your contributions will be a key ingredient to our success in delivering joy through our baked goods!
Responsibilities include:
- Innovate and enhance our reporting mechanisms, transforming raw data into visually compelling dashboards and scorecards that capture the essence of our distribution and supplier dynamics
- Pioneer automation in our supply chain management, streamlining projects and tasks for peak efficiency
- Deploy and oversee sophisticated contract utilization systems, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals
- Lead market intelligence efforts by conducting thorough research and pricing audits, providing actionable insights
- Craft and standardize procurement tools and templates, simplifying processes for maximum effectiveness
- Source and secure high-quality ingredients, packaging, and equipment
- Cultivate and manage vendor relationships, conducting regular supplier evaluations to uphold our standards
- Communicate consistently with franchisees, ensuring they are informed and engaged with our supply chain updates
- Monitor and address bakery feedback, acting as a liaison to elevate franchisee concerns and enhance supplier collaboration
- Embrace a diverse range of responsibilities as needed to support our growth and success
Requirements
What You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum 5+ years of supply chain, logistics, distribution, or procurement experience required
- Bachelor's degree or certificates in business, logistics, operations, procurement or a related field is an asset
- Supply Chain Management Professional designation is an asset
- Experience in food service industry, franchise or retail business environment is an asset
- Experience with business analytics tools, business intelligence tools and interpreting detailed data sets
- Proven success making improvements to business processes and procedures
- Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on MS Excel, Power Automate, Power BI
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet critical deadlines
