Overview:
As the Junior Sales Engineer you will be responsible for supporting business growth and shaping the company’s long-term strategic direction. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams and engineering teams to strategize, collaborate, and align business efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and follow-up on sales leads, provide inside sales support, and coordinate with sales team to ensure follow up with potential clients.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and team members to complete application process for various projects, incentive programs, and grant opportunities.
- Write or review supporting documentation for the RFP process.
- Set clear target dates throughout the proposal process to ensure successful completion by monitoring progress, coordinating with external contributors and consistently self-evaluating project priorities.
- Utilize technical product and solution information to identify and understand potential clients needs in order to generate new business opportunities.
- Handling urgent calls, emails, and messages, answering customer queries, informing them of delays, arranging delivery dates, and scheduling marketing events.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure sales, marketing, queries, and deliveries are handled efficiently.
- Developing and maintaining CRM systems to maintain sales records, prepare reports, and provide financial information to the finance department.
- Facilitate detailed due diligence on opportunities proposed by the company’s potential customers, lenders and investors.
- Business Case Modeling incorporating Energy Storage, Renewable Energy Sources and EV Charging.
- Evaluate the company’s current product strategy using industry research and competitor analysis, and develop a growth strategy focused on competitive advantages, financial gain, and market needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong understanding of technical system applications for EV Charging and BESS preferred.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with store locations, various stakeholders, VPs, regional managers, and other corporate departments.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, complete day to day activities, and handle all urgent requests.
- Excellent collaboration skills to ensure effective communication across teams and to coordinate ongoing business development initiatives.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Civil), business administration, business management, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role inclusive of co-op.
- Previous experience with writing proposals.
- Experience with creating marketing content for proposal process would be considered an asset.
