We are currently looking for a Program Coordinator to join the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) Secretariat. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, analysis, and research of perinatal and paediatric health system improvement initiatives. This includes participation in the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and quality of care. The role will act as a support to designated Program Managers for related committees and expert panels, and will be required to conduct research, data analysis, and report writing. This position has a strong emphasis on quantitative data collection and analysis.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Support and actively work to achieve the mandate of PCMCH
- Work closely with PCMCH Program Managers to execute the PCMCH work plan, particularly supporting paediatric or child health projects
- Select and use appropriate research and analytical approaches, and incorporate best available evidence in the implementation of planning/improvement efforts, including conducting environmental scans, literature reviews, and qualitative and quantitative research
- Collaborate with other staff and stakeholders in data collection, validation, analysis, synthesis, and visualization.
- Incorporate diverse approaches in quality improvement and performance management in carrying out duties related to assigned projects
- Assist in the development of project deliverables (data reports, project plans, final reports, presentations, briefing notes, etc.)
- Maintain and update project repository and filing system with documents and deliverables
- Promote a collaborative approach to problem solving by fostering a trusting and respectful environment open to continuous improvement
- Prepare and present written and verbal reports (e.g., briefing notes) for internal and external stakeholders
Here's What You'll Need
- Degree in health administration, health policy, public health, health planning, business planning, health information management, data science, or equivalent experience in the healthcare sector
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data science, health care administration, health planning, or related functions
- Minimum 1 year of direct experience in project coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI); experience with survey development, statistical, data management, and reporting tools and software (e.g., REDCap, SPSS, SAS, Stata, R) is an asset
- Experience using data holdings from Statistics Canada, ICES, Better Outcomes Registry & Network (BORN) Ontario, the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), and/or IntelliHealth Ontario is an asset.
- Previous quantitative data analysis experience, preferably in the health care sector
- Critical thinking skills
- Good understanding of Ontario healthcare system
- Advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
