Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator is responsible for helping to develop and implement strategic fundraising plans that raise private sector revenues and the public awareness of Prologue, and for facilitating peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives that support the organization’s strategic and long-term goals.
The successful candidate will be a detailed and goal-oriented individual. They are self-motivated and can effectively articulate the goals and aspirations of the organization into meaningful cases for support which translate to effective fundraising strategies and partnership opportunities. The candidate will also be outgoing and enjoy working with the Executive Director and team members, meeting with community members, and attending networking events to build relationships with new and existing donors and supporters.
This position is a maternity leave contract with an end date of December 19, 2025, working virtually and with the opportunity to discuss and negotiate your schedule. The candidate must be able to attend client meetings, team meetings and other potential evening events in Toronto on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, create a year-long integrated fundraising strategy that incorporates building and cultivating the donor database, reviewing and connecting with potential corporate and sponsorship opportunities, and creating a strategy for foundational grants.
- Execute strategic fundraising plans that raise private sector revenues and the public awareness of Prologue, and facilitate peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives that support the organization’s strategic and long-term goals.
- Build relationships with potential sponsors and corporate donors, and create funding opportunities to help further Prologue programming, operations, and special projects.
- Identify, cultivate and steward new and existing donors and partners to grow the Prologue database and increase support year over year.
- With the Executive Director, execute and plan all fundraising campaigns and events, including potential fundraisers, Spotlight Prologue, and other cultivation and stewardship events.
- Develop written content associated with the fundraising process, including customized proposals for potential partners and donor communication.
- Maintain an active and accurate database of prospects, donors and partnership and ensure compliance in fundraising standards and principals.
