THE POSITION
In support of our growing team, we’re hiring an HR Coordinator to join our small but mighty People and Culture ("P&C") team. In this position, you'll ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Maple’s HR processes by maintaining and administering our HR systems, documentation, and workflows. Your responsibilities will include processing payroll, coordinating benefits, administering HR systems, and managing equity administration. You'll play a key role in supporting employee relations and engagement initiatives, assisting with compliance and policy updates, and contributing to various People and Culture projects. Additionally, you will provide front desk coverage as needed on in-office days.
Critical to your success in this role will be your ability to navigate complex HR systems, maintain precise and organized records, and provide exceptional support to employees and stakeholders. You will need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring a high level of accuracy. Your strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential in ensuring smooth coordination across the P&C team and with other departments. Additionally, your process-oriented mindset and digital literacy will be vital in handling the systematic aspects of payroll, benefits, and spreadsheet management.
12 – 18 MONTH DELIVERABLES
Within the first 90 days, you will demonstrate a high level of autonomy in maintaining day-to-day HR operations, providing exceptional support to employee queries, and addressing requests promptly and professionally. You will familiarize yourself with all People & Culture tools and technologies, fully oversee HRIS (BambooHR) administration and coordinate all payroll administration. Additionally, you will support HR initiatives and projects, contributing to the delivery of outcomes within established timelines.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, you will be responsible for optimizing HR processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, particularly in payroll processing, benefits coordination, and HR systems management. You will collaborate with the Manager, P&C to update HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to maintain accuracy in HR data, manage all data inputs and changes within agreed SLAs, and support employee relations improvements, contributing to increased employee engagement scores and a positive workplace culture.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 2+ years of work experience in people operations, with proven experience as an HR Administrator or Coordinator or as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational, execution, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a deep sense of accountability in managing timelines and meeting deadlines.
- Proven experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Sheets or Excel.
- Proficiency in a variety of HR tools and technologies, including HRIS (BambooHR preferred).
- Previous experience supporting and coordinating key HR programs, such as performance and compensation cycles and training sessions, is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a start-up and/or SaaS environment is an asset.
