About the role
As part of the MaRS Innovation Hubs team, this role uses exceptional customer service and technical skills in the day-to-day delivery of audio-visual support and services for all MaRS Innovation Hubs venues, including but limited to the MaRS Centre and MaRS Waterfront locations. This is a customer facing role with high levels of service expected in planning and executing AV related delivery for the Collaboration Centre, Nucleus and Nexus event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide audio-visual support and service for virtual and live events including acting as a show operator and coordinating setups and strikes. Conduct quality control analysis during live events and make adjustments as needed. Remain flexible to work based on the demands of the live events schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Operate, troubleshoot, maintain and repair in-house AV equipment. Utilize existing software tools for equipment resources. Liaise with external vendors to secure, install, operate and remove sub-rented equipment.
- Deliver audio visual setup and support for spaces as they come online, this can include troubleshooting existing hardware and installing new hardware.
- Support the execution of overall audio-visual delivery responsibilities, this can include but is not limited to acting as on-call help desk support and other duties as required.
- Commit to continuous improvement of technical skills by staying informed of industry trends, tools and innovations.
- Support cross-functional Innovation Hubs team delivery with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Theatre Production, Digital Media, Event Production or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the audio-visual industry.
- Working knowledge of AV systems, equipment, and delivery methodology, this should include networked hardware, integrated systems, etc
- Knowledge of Digico, Barco suite, Extron and Livestream platforms an asset but not required.
- Problem solving skills that will include operating AV systems, software, hardware, etc.
- Familiarity with both PC and Mac-based environments and systems as well as tablets, and smartphones.
- Familiarity with virtual collaboration & broadcast systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, V-Mix, etc.)
- Familiarity with audio and video conferencing hardware systems. (Zoom, Logitech, Poly, etc.)
- Proficiency in MacOS and Microsoft presentation and office suites.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000, up to 10% discretionary incentive, benefits and paid time-off.
