Position Summary
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the key role of Clinical Research Coordinator in the Ontario Hereditary Cancer Research Network (OHCRN). OHCRN is a new registry being developing to collect clinical and genetic information on individuals with hereditary cancer across Ontario. This individual will report to the OHCRN Program Manager and work with members of the OHCRN team in developing an Ontario hereditary cancer registry and supporting the enrolment of patients. This role would benefit from a strong interest in cancer and genetics, and require the application of knowledge about Ontario’s health care system.
Position Responsibilities
- Recruit study participants (e.g. identify and screen potential subjects, confirm eligibility, obtain informed consent, answer participant queries)
- Plan, implement and coordinate data collection, source documentation and data entry per OICR and hospital policies, and ICH/GCP guidelines
- Work with various teams, including doctors, genetic counsellors, researchers, scientists and patients at multiple genetics clinics and labs across Ontario to support registry development and obtain participant information
- Maintain registry and transcript data
- Assist with research ethics submissions, including annual renewals and amendments
- Coordinate with the study team to execute administrative tasks, including meeting facilitation, presentations, and conferences
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or science-related field, or recognized equivalent
- Practical clinical and related experience
- Knowledge and interest in hereditary cancer genetics, genetic testing and genomic technologies
- Experience with database maintenance and electronic patient record systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with high attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities, problem solve and work independently
- Confidence in working with a variety of stakeholders and people from different disciplines
- Strong Proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook, G Suite
- Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines
