Corporate Development Analyst - PE Backed, Healthcare Services
Background
Our client (the "Company") is Canada's fastest growing owner/operator in this healthcare services sector. Backed by well-known PE investors, they are seeking a highly-motivated Analyst to join their Corporate Development team.
The Company has a national footprint, with approximately 300 locations across Canada. You will contribute to the Company's rapid growth through direct involvement in the full acquisition process.
Role overview
You will support the Corporate Development function throughout the deal cycle. The role will be focused on supporting the evaluation and execution of acquisitions including providing assistance with due diligence, valuation / financial modelling, and taking part in integration activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Population of internal financial models
- Ad-hoc analysis of financial and other data
- Analysis of potential opportunities
- Assisting with management of the acquisition pipeline
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the business including Operations, Finance, HR, Payroll and other key functions, supporting their transaction execution needs
- Aid in the preparation of materials for key stakeholders including Management and/or Board
- Assistance with special projects and other tasks as required
Qualifications and other skills
- Undergraduate education in business administration, accounting, finance or related field
- 0-2 years work experience in a financial analysis and/or transaction-based environment (M&A/transaction advisory, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, etc.); qualified co-op program candidates may also be considered
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic deals-based environment
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Healthcare or retail experience is an asset, but not a requirement
Position requirements
- Comfortable with a hybrid work environment – working from or meeting at the Company's office is required from time to time at Management’s discretion.
- While not expected in the short-term, as the candidate grows within the role, there may be opportunities or business need for the candidate to travel within Canada to support due diligence visits in the medium-term. Ability and desire to do so is an asset.
