Overview of the Position
Under the direction of the Chief of Police, the Senior Administrative and Human Resources Manager is responsible for day-to-day senior administration and human resources operations, prepare payroll budget/variance, biweekly overtime submission to HR at City Hall, assist with recruiting uniform and civilian members and providing a wide range of People and Culture support to all members of the Brockville Police Service.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- 3-year post-secondary diploma in a related field
- 2 – 3 years experience working within the Human Resource Field
- CHRP designation preferred
Language
- English required in oral, reading and writing
- French language considered an asset
Job Knowledge
- Basic understanding of policing
- Strong problem solving skills and judgement required for problems or situations that deviate from straight-forward procedures on a regular basis
- Strong communication skills for regular contact the BPS members and members of the public to give, obtain, and/or exchange, and/or discuss technical information or decisions requiring discussion or explanation to ensure full understanding with tact, self-control, and persuasiveness.
Hours or Work
- Monday – Friday, 40 hour work week
- Evenings and weekends may be required from time to time
- Ability to work remotely, as per BPS Operating Policy AI-40
Effort and Working Conditions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $99,000.00-$111,000.00 per year
